What should we look at?
Preparing your photo…
Choose one option above to continue.
One plant. One simple box.
Drag across the photo to frame one plant. You do not need to trace its leaves.
Both services will use this same crop. The box is your selection, not a detected vine boundary.
Drag inside the box to move it, or drag a corner to resize. Keyboard: focus the box and use arrow keys to move; Shift + arrows resizes.
Advanced: refine a plant outline
Optional tap-based outline. You can use a rectangle crop even when this tool is unavailable.
Refine your selection
Tap the plant. Adjust the yellow outline, then identify this area.
Tap inside one vine to begin.
About the outline
This is a proposed boundary, not a verified vine area. Tiny selections can miss useful leaf and stem details.
Step 3 · Your suggestions
Here’s what we found

Pl@ntNet

Sends your selected image to Pl@ntNet. Form details and photo metadata are not sent.
Shared usage limits
Checking this server’s allowance…
No Pl@ntNet account needed. Attempts are shared across this server, including earlier tests. Cached results do not use another attempt. Local limits and the provider’s own allowance are separate. VineHawk still works when external checks are unavailable.
All external suggestions
Confidence Scores describe model output—not plant coverage or guaranteed correctness. Scores from different services are not directly comparable.
Limitations, privacy & service information
Suggestions are not botanical verification. Do not use them alone for treatment or removal decisions. Submitted photos and confirmed outlines may enter a human review queue; they do not train the live model automatically. A match from Pl@ntNet does not prove a plant falls outside VineHawk’s named classes.
The image-based plant species identification service used is based on the Pl@ntNet recognition API, regularly updated and accessible through my.plantnet.org. Sending a whole photo may include visible people or surroundings, even though image metadata is removed.
For abuse protection, hashed connection identifiers and request counts are cleared after their two-day usage window when the next request is recorded. Photos used for model improvement require an independently checked label and cleared image rights. External scores alone are not training labels.
